10mm high riser for 11mm European sights

$59.00

Use the mounts to raise your 11mm Anschutz front and rear sight by 10mm.

Warning: This riser is only compatible with 11m front sights that have a movable clamp mount or removable barrel mounted front sight bases. Front sights that clamp via a slot/notch that bends instead of a movable clamp mount are not compatible with this riser, for these kind of front sights you must use the 6817 Riser Block. Scroll down below to see more details of what front sight doesn’t work.

Use the mounts to raise your 11mm European (Anschutz) front and rear sight by 10mm.

See below picture of sight that is not compatible.

The issue is the clamping mechanism on the new front sight (pictured above) is not an actual clamp but a slot cut into the base that bends the base mount when tightened. It’s very close to working but with such a small adjustment range do to the slot it may damage the front sight mount when you tighten it.  The only riser block I’m aware of that works with that kind of front sight set is the 6817 riser block. All the other riser blocks are about ½ mm smaller and puts strain on this particular kind of mounting system. The 6917 riser works great with every other Anschutz sight, sight bases and 11mm grooves on the gun. It is close enough to working that you can actually get the above front sight to clamp to the 6917 riser but then the base will not bounce back to the original shape as there is nothing to make it flex back, it is very difficult to unbend it back once it’s bent about ½ mm smaller.

The 9759 Strong front sight has a much better clamping system and it will work with all the riser blocks out there as it has an actual clamp that will not deform when used. They are probably calling it “strong” as it doesn’t have the bending weakness of the new front sight pictured above.
